In collaboration with the NFLPA, NBAPA, Players Trust, and other major league advocates, this project highlights the powerful shift from professional athlete to policy advocate. Former NFL player Lawrence Sidbury joined a delegation of former league players brought to the Capitol by ELEVATE Government Affairs to engage lawmakers on both sides of the aisle in vital conversations around mental health in sports.

The initiative centered on exploring legislative solutions and building awareness around mental health resources—before, during, and after an athlete’s career. Conversations with Senator Alex Padilla and Representative Andrea Salinas reflected a unified push for accountability, preventative resources, and long-term support within the sports ecosystem.

Captured through street interviews, reflective commentary, and live dialogue on Capitol Hill, this project showcases Lawrence’s vulnerability, insight, and commitment to shifting the narrative.
